In the recent Marquis #44, the results of a most recent online poll were addressed with some obvious and some rather interesting results. A comment that stood out to me was one concerning the age of models and the imploring for a more “fresh†and “young†talent. If you consider the poll results, I, at 26, am a relatively young latex enthusiast and from my point of view, rubber and latex fetishism seems to me a very sophisticated form of sexuality. When I see models I admire like Kumi or Darenzia, their age never occurs to me. They are beautiful, grotesquely talented, timeless, and perversely versatile….
           It has seemed a trend for Marquis to consistently feature models that happen to be “older†by mainstream fashion standards, but it makes sense to me. After many years of following the goings on in the world of latex and fetish media, you start to get used to – even depend on – the faces, the bodies, styles, and immutable charm of the celebrity models we know and love. Another thing that makes sense to me is the mature and superior dominatrix theme that so consistently crosses the pages of Marquis, it is what defines the allure and charm for the entire spectrum of “readersâ€. I’d be very eager for more feedback from the readers and watchers on the subject of age and fetishism, as the two concepts can be both mutually exclusive and not. Personally, when I think of a female Dom, a pubescent nineteen year old isn’t what comes to mind; and the idea of preaching kink to someone like Katsuni, Noni, or Kumi seems about as useful as farting on a skunk.

For me, age doesn’t really matter, the models you feature are always fantastic and genuine fetishists which is what is more important to me. Most fetish models don’t tend to make it bigger till they are older because fetish is the sort of thing that you have to be mature enough to indulge in safely and happily. While people like Kumi and Darenzia might be older than the average high fashion model, they are amazing and they are the sort of models you want to read about in your mag.
However, I can also see the other side of things. I’m only 20 and a photographer, so seeing younger models and artists who are successful is inspiring to me. I don’t think there is often enough attention on young, genuine fetishists as too many younger models who are trying to get into fetish don’t seem to be genuinely interested in it. However models like Nicotine and Mosh are young models who love fetish, so it’d be great seeing you hunt for people like that.
